🫀 Meet the Specialists Behind the Images: Diagnostic Radiologists 🫀
When living with aortic disease, there is an important member of your healthcare team you may never meet face-to-face — but whose expertise plays a critical role in your care: the Diagnostic Radiologist. 💙
Diagnostic radiologists are medical doctors (MD or DO) who complete years of specialized training to interpret medical imaging and help detect, diagnose, and monitor disease.
For the aortic community, they help evaluate studies such as:
🩻 CT (Computed Tomography) scans
🧲 MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
🫀 Echocardiograms
📸 Other vascular imaging studies
Their job goes far beyond “reading scans.” They help identify and monitor:📏 Aortic size and growth
⚠️ Aortic aneurysms
🫀 Aortic dissections
🔍 Changes after surgery or procedures
📈 Long-term surveillance findings
Diagnostic radiologists work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, vascular specialists, and your care team to provide information that helps guide treatment decisions.
For many in our community, imaging becomes a lifelong companion — and diagnostic radiologists help turn those pictures into answers, direction, and ongoing care.
💙 To the radiologists quietly working behind the scenes helping care for our community — thank you for helping us see the full picture.
