Let's Get to Know Zach Bokhari

❤️ November is all about getting to know the people behind Aortic Hope!
Our volunteers are what make everything we do possible, so throughout November, we’re introducing you to some of the incredible people behind the scenes.
Meet Zach Bokhari, one of our Medical Social Media Administrators and a medical student who helps bring reliable, easy-to-understand information to our community.
Where you currently are in your medical school journey
I am currently in my second year of medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.
Where you hope that journey ultimately takes you—specialty, career goals, etc.
I hope to become an academic cardiac surgeon at a center where I can keep learning, take on challenging cases, and contribute to research that improves care for many patients. I want to become the best physician and surgeon I can be, with both surgical excellence and my patients’ happiness and quality of life at the heart of my work. I hope my patients feel heard, trust me with their care, and feel that we’re working toward the outcomes that matter most to them.
A fun or interesting fact about yourself—hobby, hidden talent, favorite pastime, anything!
I spent 15 years traveling around the world playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game competitively!
What you enjoy most about volunteering with Aortic Hope
The people! It’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who care so much about patients and their families and put that passion into helping them. I’m grateful for the chance to learn from their experiences and better understand what living with aortic disease means beyond the medical care itself. As an aspiring cardiac surgeon, I hope to carry that perspective with me and help my patients feel informed and hopeful about their lives ahead.
If you’ve learned something from one of our Medical Monday or Topic Tuesday posts, Zach may have been one of the people behind it! 🩺❤️
Now you know a little more about the med student behind the posts—and the volunteer helping us spread awareness, education, and HOPE.
Stay tuned as we introduce you to more of the Aortic Hope family throughout November! ❤️
