Spoon Theory

🥄❤️ It's #AorticDiseaseAwarenessMonth and today we are talking about SPOONS - HOW MANY SPOONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY?

Ever heard of Spoon Theory by Christine Miserandino? It’s a simple way of describing the limited amount of physical and emotional energy we may have available each day.

For someone living with aortic disease, recovering from surgery, managing medications, dealing with fatigue, attending appointments—or simply carrying the mental weight of “what if?”—everyday tasks can sometimes use more energy than others realize.

Getting dressed = 🥄

Going to an appointment = 🥄🥄

Working all day = 🥄🥄🥄

Managing anxiety or scanxiety = 🥄🥄

Social plans = maybe the spoons you have left.

And some days, you simply start with fewer spoons.

The lesson? You don't have to spend every spoon you have. ❤️

Rest isn't giving up. Saying no isn't failing. And saving some energy for tomorrow is okay.

Be patient with yourself—and with others whose energy you may not be able to see. 🥄💛
