šWe are so excited to announce that community member and survivor, Michael Pace, will be participating in a Spartan Race in Florida on March 29th.
ā¤ļøMichael has chosen Aortic Hope to be the recipient of funds that he raises in an effort to create awareness about Aortic Disease.
ššÆš¼šš ššµš² šš®ššš²: On November 29th, 2021, during a family walk on a rare chilly night in Florida, I began to feel extremely anxious, aggravated, and clammy. As we got home, I felt immense pain in my chest and decided to go to the emergency room. After a long wait and intense pain, I was finally taken for a CT scan, which revealed a life-threatening aortic dissection causing an aneurysm by my aortic valve. This condition, which occurs in only 0.01% of people in my age group, required emergency open-heart surgery.
Thanks to the incredible medical care I received, I am now a survivor. However, many others are not as fortunate, and awareness and early detection are crucial in saving lives. This is why I am partnering with Aortic Hope, a dedicated organization that provides support, education, and hope to those affected by aortic disease. Aortic Hope's mission is to improve the quality of life for patients and their families through awareness, support, and research.
š¢ššæ ššš»š±šæš®š¶šš²šæ: To raise awareness and funds, a group of 20 passionate individuals, including myself, will be participating in an upcoming Spartan race. We are running to support Aortic Hope and to spread the word about the importance of aortic health. Our goal is to not only complete this challenging race but also to inspire others to join us in this vital cause.
šš¼š š¬š¼š šš®š» šš²š¹š½: We are seeking donations to help fund Aortic Hope's vital programs and initiatives. Your generous contribution will directly impact the lives of those affected by aortic disease by:
-Supporting educational programs to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of aortic disease.
-Providing resources and support to patients and their families. Funding research to improve treatment options and outcomes.
