It's #AorticDiseaseAwarenessMonth and today we are talking about 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮🩺
Health trauma happens when medical experiences—like sudden diagnoses, invasive procedures, or even dismissive care—leave lasting emotional scars. It’s more common than people realize, and it can impact trust, healing, and overall wellness.
The good news? Healing 𝒊𝒔 possible. 🌱 Here are some ways to begin:
🧠 𝑨𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 & 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝑰𝒕
Recognizing your experience as trauma is the first step toward healing.
🤝 𝑺𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕
Therapists, support groups, or connecting with others who’ve been through similar experiences can help you feel less alone.
📝 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
Journaling, art, or storytelling can help process emotions that feel “stuck.”
🌿𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 & 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆
Breathing techniques, mindfulness, and gentle movement like yoga or walking can calm the nervous system.
💪𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒎 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑽𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆
Practice self-advocacy in medical settings—bring questions, a support person, or request second opinions.
Remember: your feelings are valid, and healing from health trauma is a journey, not a destination. 💙
✨ You are not defined by what happened to you—you are defined by your resilience. ✨
