Today is Movement for Movement Monday!
As we all know, doing nothing is doing something however, many of us need some support to simply get moving (whatever that may be for you).
Following your doctor's orders, do whatever he/she has cleared you to do. Since it is almost Valentine's Month, let's talk about SEX as an activity. As seen in an article from HealthDay written by Chris Woolston and Sydney Murphy titled , "Sex and Hypertension: Does sex increase blood pressure?" it states that: "If you suffer from any type of heart trouble, it's only natural to have concerns about whether sex is still safe for you. Here's the good news: According to the American Heart Association, most people with heart trouble can enjoy sex safely -- and that includes those with high blood pressure." The article continues to say "Sex -- like any other form of exercise -- does get the heart pumping. And, in rare cases, the extra exertion could trigger a heart attack. But the risks are encouragingly small. According to a report by the American Journal of Cardiology, fewer than 1 percent of all heart attacks occur during sexual activity."
