It's a Movement for Movement

Hey, summer lovers! Are you feeling the heat? ☀️

Today is your reminder from Aortic Hope to MOVE YOUR BODY!

🥵 If you're like us, you don't want to give up on moving your body just because the temperature is rising. But how can you stay active and healthy when it's so hot outside?

👉 Here are some tips to help you beat the heat and keep moving:

- 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿. Hydration is key to prevent dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. Aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day, and more if you sweat a lot.

- Avoid the hottest part of the day. Try to schedule your workouts for early morning or evening, when the sun is less intense and the air is cooler. You can also check the weather forecast and plan ahead for cooler days.

- 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.. If it's too hot to exercise or do scheduled tasks outdoors, you can still get a good workout and cross off some things from your "to-do list" indoors. You can join a gym, try some yoga, or even dance in your living room. The important thing is to keep moving and have fun! (as long as you have everything cleared by your doctor)

- 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. If you choose to be outside, choose fabrics that wick away sweat and allow your skin to breathe. Avoid dark colors that absorb heat and make you feel hotter. You can also wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun's rays.

- 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆. Even after clearing with your practitioner the activities you can do, don't push yourself too hard when it's hot. If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or weak, stop exercising and seek shade or air conditioning. You can also use a wet towel or a spray bottle to cool yourself down.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁!

We get it, sometimes doing nothing is doing something however, in this heat, if you choose to do something outdoors, make sure to clear everything with your practitioners to ensure that any medications your are taking won't cause issues due to heat or overexertion.
