Dr. Roberts is a board-certified cardiovascular surgeon specializing in coronary and aortic surgery. After completing his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University and obtaining his medical degree from Emory University, Dr. Roberts trained in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1993-1996). He then spent a year in London at the Royal Bromptom Hospital for advanced training in cardiovascular surgery.


Dr. Roberts came to Baylor University Medical Center in 2018, after 20 years in academic and private practice. Since then, he has served as Medical Director of Cardiovascular Research and Education (2018-2022), Chair of the Department of Cardiac Surgery (2018-2022) and Chief of Cardiovascular Quality (2024-present). He is also a Professor of Surgery affiliated with Texas A&M School of Medicine.


In addition, he has published more than 125 medical articles and 5 books related to his field. Dr. Roberts has a special interest in coronary artery disease, aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection. He is dedicated to his family, to his profession, and to his patients.
