It's Medical Monday at Aortic Hope.

If you have been diagnosed with an 𝗮𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘆𝗺, you may have many questions and concerns about your condition and treatment options.

Here are some questions that you can ask your physician to help you understand your situation better:

  • What is an aortic aneurysm and what causes it?

  • How big is my aneurysm and where is it located?

  • What are the signs and symptoms of a ruptured aneurysm and what should I do if I experience them?

  • How often do I need to have my aneurysm checked and what tests are involved?

  • What are the risk factors for aneurysm growth or rupture and how can I reduce them?

  • What are the treatment options for my aneurysm and what are the benefits and risks of each option?

  • Am I a candidate for endovascular repair or open surgery and what are the differences between them?

  • How should I prepare for the procedure and what can I expect during and after it?

  • How will my recovery be like and what kind of follow-up care will I need?

  • How will having an aortic aneurysm affect my lifestyle, diet, exercise, work, and medications?

These are some of the questions that you can ask your physician to learn more about your 𝗮𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘆𝗺. Remember that you have the right to ask any questions that you have and to get clear and honest answers from your health care team.
