🎉April is #GlobalVolunteerMonth! We wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who has been part of our journey
❤️ Aortic Hope started back in 2016, as a Facebook page, focused on providing hope and inspiration. April 11th, 2018 we became a registered non-profit with a board of volunteers who were all touched by Aortic Disease.
❤️ That still holds true today. In addition to our board of 7, we have 4 Directors of Support Services, a Director of Genetic Education, a Director of Retail Operations, 2 Culinary & Nutrition Educators and 2 Social Media Administrators. In addition, over 70 community members have signed up to be Hope Ambassadors (volunteers).
❤️ Many of you help us in so many ways. Volunteering looks different for different people. Some of you assist us by participating in live events, support group meetings, posting on our social media pages and interracting with us during our online podcasts. Others have hosted birthday fundraisers, in-person events, spoken at schools and hosted us on a radio show.
❤️ Without people to volunteer to assist us, we wouldn't be where we are today. Being able to serve the community serves us. That is the only form of compensation any of us receive.
