Today for Therapeutic Thursday, we are going to focus on Black History Month and how making an impact on others can also impact you positively.
Booker T. Washington was an educator and author and also an advisor to several US presidents. He was the last generation of his family born into slavery and overcame great obstacles, but did not let the bad hand of life he was dealt determine his future. May he be an inspiration for us all and a reminder that no matter what happens to you in life, it’s how you respond to it and also your outlook. Booker’s life of inspiring others still lives on today.
His words really resonate with me because I have been so fortunate to have many positive influences in my life, and I also hope that through my volunteer and community work that I too have helped to lift others up.
As Aortic Survivors, we have so much appreciation for a second chance at life and can give back so much to others.
What do you do in your day to day life to not only lift yourself up, but lift others up as well!?
